Sketches
Below is a slideshow displaying some of my rough drawings and character sketches, mostly produced in pen & ink and pencil. I find these very useful as part of the creative process of building a finished illustration, drawing or painting or just as a way of having fun and keeping my drawing skills up.
Sketches are often an invaluable way of exploring ideas and new avenues and taking risks before committing yourself to a finished piece, they are also a great visual tool for showing prospective clients a rough idea of what their finished artwork will look like. :)
In addition, this year following in the footsteps of wonderful Children's Laureate, Chris Riddell, who sketches every day as part of his 'Laureate Log', I founded my own version - The Artmaniac Challenge. The 365 day Artmaniac Challenge can be found on Facebook and requires it's members to draw, sketch, sculpt, paint or create some new art EVERY DAY for a whole year from January 1st 2017 to January 1st 2018.
It's quite a task but is a lot of fun and a great way of forcing you to be creative every day. Flex those fingers! :)
